Tu B’Shevat Seder Saturday, January 30, 4:30 pm What is the origin of Tu B’Shevat? Why do we have this special New Year to honor trees? Why, on Tu B’Shevat, do we eat fruits that grow in Israel? To learn the answers to these questions, join us for our third Congregational Tu B’Shevat Seder. The Seder is modeled after the Passover Seder, with the questions and four glasses of juice. We will sample 15 fruits and/or nuts during the evening. The program will last approximately 45 minutes and then we will have pizza, salad and drinks. The cost for the evening, which includes the fruits, nuts, juice, pizza, salad and drinks is $4.00 for children age 5 to 10 and $7.00 for adults. Children under 5 are free. Reservations are required and payment must be sent with the reservation. Please send your check, payable to Sha’are Shalom, to Madelene Weinberger, 4826 Bryantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601 or to Pamela Green, 6013 Blackbear Court, Waldorf, MD 20603-4342. Deadline for receipt of payment is January 25th.
