Come join us as we celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut (Independence Day) in Israel commemorating the Israeli Declaration of Independence in 1948!

  • Pre-course: Each table will have pita bread, hummus, a bowl of fresh olives, and a bottle of Israeli wine
  • First course: Portobello mushrooms with pearled barley and preserved-lemon appetizer
  • Second course: Spiced chickpeas, fresh vegetable salad
  • Third course: Beef and lamb meatballs with fava beans and lemon entrée with a side of roasted sweet potatoes and fresh figs
  • Fourth course: Poached pears in white wine and cardamom dessert

You don’t need to attend the dinner in order to attend the movie.
“In 1948, just three years after the liberation of Nazi death camps, a group of Jewish-American pilots answered a call for help. In secret and at great personal risk, they smuggled planes out of the US, trained behind the Iron Curtain in Czechoslovakia, and flew for Israel in its War of Independence. As members of Machal – “volunteers from abroad” – this ragtag band of brothers not only turned the tide of the war, they also embarked on personal journeys of discovery and renewed Jewish pride.”
