Sunday, Sept. 7, 9 am
We will start at 9 am on Sunday, Sept. 7, and stay until about 1 pm. Volunteers can come anytime during that period and stay as long as they would like. The busiest time is between 10 am and noon. More than 200 riders came through last year, so we needed everyone’s help! The jobs are making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, making tomato sandwiches, making Gatorade, handing out grapes, bananas, and other snacks, and cleaning up. Congregation Sha’are Shalom always receives a nice donation from the Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club for running this rest stop. The location is where County Route 6 dead-ends at the Potomac River, at Riverside, MD. Anyone planning to volunteer should contact me at [email protected], or [email protected], or call 301-292-0852.
