The evening is unique in that “deli night” is a draw not only to us at Sha’are Shalom but to the community at large. We have people from the community that have come to each deli night and every year we have new people.
Our members are very welcoming to our guests. This year, a first time family of five, said to me “this is such a special evening, everyone is so friendly and wel-coming. Be sure and advertise next year, we want to come again.”
Reuben Collins, one of our commissioners, called to say that he couldn’t come to dinner but he wanted to support us and could he order two dinners to go—of course we said “yes”. Hopefully, next year he will be able to stay for the social part of the evening.
Deli night was originally Lee’s idea and like a lot of his ideas, he turned to me for “execution.” I could not do it without the help of the “Deli Night Committee” Sandy Blake, Suzanne Darby, Elaine McVinney, and Joan Troncoso. THANK YOU LADIES!!!
