I hope everybody had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. I know the Schoch family had a wonderful time visiting relatives who came from faraway places like Georgia and Providence, Rhode Island.
The Congregation received a THANK YOU note from the Children’s Aid Society for the Food Drive we had and this is what it said:
Dear Congregation Sha’are Shalom,
Thank you very much for your recent donation of food to Children’s Aid. In these difficult times, your generosity helps Charles County families get the food they need.
Sincerely, The Children’s Aid Society.
Now that Winter is coming the Children’s Aid Society needs coats, hats, gloves. They said that they will accept gently used or new coats. If everybody would look into their closets and see if there is a coat that is just hanging there, think about bringing it to the synagogue. There will be a BOX for the Children’s Aid Society by the information table for all coats, hats gloves. As you notice when you come into the Synagogue the box is full, but don’t let that stop you. The closing date is
December 10, 2011.
This is the month for the Biennial that is happening Dec. 14-18, 2011. If you can spend 3 hours to volunteer at this event, please sign up at www.urj.org/biennialvolunteer.
Just fill out the information and you will hear from somebody from the Biennial.
Thanks in advance for volunteering.
If you didn’t walk for the Homelessness in Charles County you missed a great time. I want to take my Hat Off to Lee Weinberger for being in charge of this event for Sha’are Shalom. It was nice to see our name in print on the T-shirts. Great job Lee! We did great with donations and with the walkers.
Check out the newsletter for more information on things that are happening at Sha’are Shalom and come and join us.
Shalom,
Jackie
