Rabbi Joshua Caruso, our student rabbi for 2½ years in the 1990s and now the chief rabbi at Anshe Chesed Fairmont Temple in the Cleveland area, will be shaving off his curly hair this spring as part of a fundraising effort called “36 Rabbis Shave for the Brave,” to support research and treatment of childhood cancers.
Rabbi Caruso has been sharing the touching blog posts by the family of a young Jewish boy nicknamed “Superman Sam” who had a recent bone marrow transplant to combat his leukemia, but the prognosis is not good. You can see the blog posts at SupermanSamuel.blogspot.com.
