On Sunday, May 22, at 4 pm, Sha’are Shalom members Valerie Holt and Pat Myers will sing in a concert featuring Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms,” a choral setting of several psalms sung in Hebrew. Bernstein composed this beautiful and exciting work in the 1960s for the Chichester festival in England. Also on the Maryland Choral Society program is the shimmering “Lux Aeterna” by Morten Lauridsen.
The concert is at Mount Calvary Church at 6704 Marlboro Pike in Forestville, a mile or so inside the Beltway at Exit 11 (Md. Route 4, Pennsylvania Avenue).
