Purim Party
By Madelene Weinberger

Purim has come and gone, and what a great event it was for Congregation Sha’are Shalom!! First, we had the Hamantaschen sales. It was a record year for us. We baked 109 dozen, or 1,308 Hamantaschen; believe me that’s a lot. A special thank-you to my co-bakers: Sandy Blake, Elaine McVinney, Jackie Schoch, Joan Troncoso, and
Lynn Weinberger. We were baking for approximately 8 hours. Six very tired, but happy, women left the synagogue that evening. The sale of Purim Baskets was also a record year. Last year we sold 248 baskets, this year 452. Purim concluded at Sha’are Shalom with a party. Several adults joined the children in coming in costume. Everyone had fun trying to guess who the person was supposed to be.

THE PURIM COMMITTEE HOPES THAT EVERYONE THAT RECEIVED A BASKET, PURCHASED HAMANETACHEN, OR CAME TO THE PARTY ENJOYED IT.

WE WANT TO SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT PURCHASED BASKETS. WE CAN PLAN EVENTS BUT WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF THE CONGREGATION, NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN, AND YOU MADE THE BASKET SALES A BIG SUCCESS.
